IntelliJ-family plugin (IntelliJ IDEA, Android Studio, and any IntelliJ-based IDE that bundles the Java and Kotlin plugins). Generates a real, compiling JUnit test skeleton for a Java or Kotlin class: one empty test method per public method, with your project's own test framework detected and imported correctly.
The gap it fixes
The free alternatives in this space have the same defect, reported by their own users: generated code that doesn't compile or a test that "passes" without asserting anything real. From those plugins' own JetBrains Marketplace reviews:
- Squaretest: "I installed this app in a hope it will allow us to get our Unit test up to date but after generating a allot of useless, non working tests I have very little hope that this tool is of any use."
- TestMe: "No tests generated. Tests generated didn't pass at all..."
- JUnitGenerator V2.0: abandoned since 2009–2010, incompatibility and encoding bugs never fixed.
None of the free competitors verify the code they generate before writing it to disk. This plugin does — every generated skeleton is parsed into an in-memory copy and checked for real syntax errors before it's ever offered as something to write. If it can't generate something safely, it says so with an honest TODO comment instead of handing you a broken test.

Gutter warning icon on any Java/Kotlin test method annotated @Disabled (JUnit 5) or @Ignore (JUnit 4) with no reason given, or whose reason names a YYYY-MM-DD revisit date that has already passed.
